song of songs, the journey of the bride by Brian Simmons

  • There are things in God that are not meant to be understood; they are to be received by faith and cherished.
  • Jesus looks beyond the momentary mess to see into the motives of our hearts.
  • Jesus is determined to leap over the mountains of fear and jump over our walls of insecurity until He has fully captured our hearts in love.
  • God's love heals. It casts out fear and brings in confidence.
  • All our lives we seek the love of others and feel that we need them to survive, when it is only His lkove, which brings satisfaction and healing.
  • We will never grow in God apart from a context of being enjoyed by Him. Worship must flow from a heart captured by His love.
  • It is the ungodly and hurtful who truly teach us to be His lamb, His lily...

Reading a book; song of songs, the journey of the bride by Brian Simmons

  • The love of Jesus for His Bride is perfect regardless of our personal state of maturity.

  • Maturity will come as we run after Him; we are called to go from knowing about Him to knowing Him- and loving Him with all our heart.

  • The Song of Songs is a story about Jesus loving His Bride into maturity. In her weaknesses, in her insecurities, in her failings she is loved. That assurance releases power for transformation. Perfect love will cast out fear.

  • The God of heaven seeks voluntary lovers, not trembling slaves.

  • Fill your mind with the truth of how Gos sees you.

  • His love is totally unrelated to how you have behaved the past week.

  • His love is an eternal love, it will not end the first time you fail. His love endures forever (Psalm 118:1).

  • She cannot be offended with one who is perfect in all His ways.

  • The one thing that will draw immature believers into pursuit to Jesus is a heart on fire.

  • A 'holy virus' is released when others see your undying love for the King.

  • Little do we know that loving Jesus will lead us not only into His heart, but also in trouble.

  • Brought into His chambers, the maiden discovers the darkness of her heart. The deeper we go into the heart of Jesus, the more we confront our own weaknesses and shameful ways.

  • If we focus on our darkened soul we will soon grow depressed and introspective. If we focus on Christ and His view of our life, we will mature and give our life away to Him. SOS 1:5, I am dark yet lovely!

  • He knows our love is immature, but He sees more than the outward failures; He sees the beauty of His life forming within you.

  • Love created you out of Love, to share Love with you.

Teaching from Mike Bickle www.ihop.org

The Father Heart of God

Jesus revealed the Father
Jesus came to reveal the Father to the human race and to offer relationship with Him.

7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him. 8 Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us." 9 Jesus said "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?” (Jn. 14:7-9)

Jesus reveals many facets of God's name and personality. Yet, God’s Fatherhood comes to the forefront and dominates Jesus’ revelation of what God is like.

26 I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it… (Jn. 17:26)

From the beginning God had a Father’s heart. Jesus revealed the nature of God as a Father who longs for intimacy with His family. There was a yearning in the Father to have a family who voluntarily loves Him and His Son. God is a great king but above all He is a Father.

6 His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father… (Isa. 9:6)

In the beginning, the Father planned to have a family.

7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things…and he shall be My son. (Rev. 21:7)

18 I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters… (2 Cor. 6:18)

The revelation of God’s Fatherhood is so precious that He wanted it declared first by His Son. Thus, Scripture says, “in the beginning God” instead of, “In the beginning the Father.”
Around the Throne of God the angels worship God with names of respect and adoration, for example, “To Him who sits upon the Throne, who lives forever and ever”. Jesus made a startling declaration, when you pray say, “Our Father”. We are not to stand at a distance from Him.

9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. (Mt. 6:9)

The Father blesses us with His favor, approval and provision that we may walk in our destiny.

31 When the Son of Man comes…He will sit on the Throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered…34 The King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” (Mt. 25:31-34)

For eternity, we are the blessed of the Father. The devil says we are cursed and accused by the Father. We inherit the Kingdom prepared for us from the foundation of the world. They Father was thinking of you when He prepared the foundations of the world.
One reason that earthly fatherhood exists in God’s plan is because God is the Eternal Father. In His wisdom, the Father established the concept of humans being fathers.
In Gethsemane, while sweating drops of blood, Jesus cried out to His Father using an intimate term calling Him, “Abba” or “Papa”. It is a term of endearment that is respectful yet intimate. This term was commonly used in the streets of Israel. Children sitting on their daddy’s lap used this word. It includes the assurance of receiving God’s kindness and affection.

36 Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me. (Mk. 14:36)

Jesus said “Abba” and fell into the Father’s arms with vulnerability. Jesus found strength and endurance in Abba’s embrace.
The Son was the only One with the right to call God “Abba”. The Spirit reveals the Father in us so that with confidence we cry, “Abba Father”. We are created to relate to God like Jesus does. The Father was moved when Jesus spoke to Him this way. One of the Holy Spirit’s roles is to convince us of what God the Father is like. He gives us confidence as He imparts the “Abba cry” in us. The good news is that we can relate to God like Jesus did.

15 You received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." (Rom. 8:15)

The Abba revelation touches the deepest need in the human spirit. It answers why God created us. We are invited to walk in intimacy with God as we receive the Father’s embrace. It empowers us to endure difficulty and casts out Satan’s accusations against the Father.
Our lives are broken and unsettled until we know the embrace of the Father. Human intimacy will not answer the deepest cry of our spirit. God put a bias in our spirit to long for the touch of a father. A primary emotional need that we all have is the assurance that we are enjoyed by God in our weakness. This comes first by the revelation that the Father longs for us and enjoys us.
The parable of the prodigal son is not primarily about a son who lost his inheritance but about a father who lost his son and how the father gets his son back.

11 He said: "A certain man had two sons. 12 The younger…said to his father, 'Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.' So he divided to them his livelihood…13 The younger son…wasted his possessions with prodigal living….17 When he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough…I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants."' 20 He arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.' 22 But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' And they began to be merry. (Lk. 15:11-24)

The younger son asks for his inheritance which was a great insult to a father. The father gave his son the money because he knew the heart of that son. He knew that his son would never come into intimacy with him until he was broken by the discovery of his sin and emptiness.

understanding the Father’s heart

The Father embraces us in affection. One of our greatest needs is to have the assurance that He enjoys us even in our weakness. The Father pursues us to share His heart with us. He wants to break the spirit of shame and despair in us. The Father is our greatest cheerleader.

The Father knows our weakness.

14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. (Ps. 103:14)

The Father is patient with us.

4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? (Rom. 2:4)

The Father plans and provides for our good.

6 For whom the LORD loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives…10 He (disciplines us) for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. (Heb. 12:6-10)

14 Children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children. (2 Cor 12:14)

32 For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. (Mt. 6:32)

The Father wants partnership with His children.

The Father calls us forth because He alone knows our potential and His plans for us.

17 I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it. (Rev. 2:17)

The Father trains us without shaming us.

11 We exhorted, comforted, and charged every one…as a father does his children (1 Thes 2:11)

14 I do not write these things to shame you, but as…beloved children I warn you. (1 Cor. 4:14)

21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. (Col. 3:21)

4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. (Eph. 6:4)

The Father shall reveal His heart to His children.

4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. (Rev. 22:4)

1 Having His Father's name written on their foreheads. (Rev. 14:1)

The vast majority of the human family has had negative experiences with their earthly father. Most have not experienced the tender touch of a loving father. The void is a great source of pain that compels us to seek the revelation of God the Father. The Devil seeks to use the pain of unfulfilled longing to confuse and deceive us so we seek to answer it in wrong ways.

Sunday club aka "the club"

Ok... 'the club' is nu 5 dagen. So the key; humility...

Class with Stuart Greaves...

A religious spirit; after you blown it, you run from God for a week or two, or even for a whole year and then when you feel better you come back to God. Coming to God based upon your own righteousness instead of God's righteousness.

When we blow it, we feel cut to the heart, come to God but in that moment we forget who God is. That He is kind and He delights in mercy.

Repentance; sincere intention, action plan, change of attitude to aggressively go toward the other direction, thén God's grace and pleasure is toward you.

"I can describe the God who you have when you do well and when you blow it and they are not the same..." (aiaia, very true for me...)

Sincere confession and repentance is not just you're sorry, you sincere go towards the other direction, you might still stumble on the way, but God is able to keep you.

A righteousness man fall 7 times, but rises up again. Press delete and move on. You will find your soul being strengthened.

On of the least prayed prayers; lead me not into temptation.

We can blow it bad <- this is how it looks to us, God says; I already knew that it was in you

Hebr 4:15+16, Jesus was tempted in EVERY single way, yet without sin. Jesus fights with the word of God.
Talk to Me! Pour out your heart to Me, quick pretending, quick hiding with leaves like Adam and Eve did. Ask Him for help, that you need Him to come...NOW.

Some run away from God after they have blown it, some in the state of temptation. Be honest. We need to have an action plan. New levels new devils.
When we come before God and fall short, the way we come forth is by having an action plan. He will cleanse you right there on the spot. God's pleasure will be towards you however you can still feel the sting on your heart (sorrow). This is part of the training and is not to be confused with God being angry or displeased with you.

Why did Peter go fishing? Because he quit the call of God upon his life. We go fishing when we blow it. We give up our vision of high call of God upon our lifes. We give up on our assignment. The question Jesus gave to Peter; do you love Me? Peter was wondering if Jesus was still loving him...but the real thing was the other way around. The Lord knew, but Peter didn't know. Your spirit is willing but your flesh is weak. Take God serious, you do love Him. All of you are going to stumble, but are you strong to keep on going, being confident in His love?

You are still a sincere lover of God though you have blown it.

Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ
(2 Thess 3:5)

He who looks to the Lord
Will NOT be shaken,
Will NOT be moved

TRUST IN THE LORD
All Your promises are yes and amen!
We believe it
so we won't draw back
You're a good good Father

He is not a man that He should lie (numbers 23: 19)

Trusting God

Ok, last week I have been trying to figure out what trusting in God means in practical day life...since it doesn't mean that nothing bad will happen but then how can i trust Him, or what does it mean???
So I went through Galatians till Jude... Here some conclusions...

I can trust the Lord because
  • He is for me and not against me
  • His eye is upon me
  • He is in control
  • He is able to keep me from stumbling
  • He is good
  • He has hedged me in, behind and before
  • He will complete it
  • It has been granted to me to also suffer for His sake
  • I will be hated, but if I endure to the end, I will be saved
  • People can't kill my soul, but only my body
  • He saves my soul
  • He is my comforter
  • The plans He has for me are good
  • He leads me on His way
  • He will deliver me
  • He will never leave me, nor forsake me
  • The peace of God will guard my heart and my mind
  • He shall supply all my needs
  • He is faithful
  • He will establish me and guard me from the evil one
  • God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind
  • All who desire to live Godly will suffer persecution
  • The Lord strengthens me
  • He will deliver me from evil work
  • He will preserve me for His heavenly kingdom
  • Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered
  • Run the race with endurance, the race that is set before you, looking unto Jesus
  • The Lord is my helper, do not fear what can a man do to you?
  • The testing of faith produces patience
  • Blessed is the man who endures temptation for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love Him (this is literal)
  • When He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed himself to Him who judges righteously
  • If you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed
  • Do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled
  • If anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed but let him glorify God in this matter
  • Cast all your cares upon Him, cause He cares for you
  • After you have suffered a while, God will perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you
  • Do not marvel if the world hates you
  • We know that we have passed from death to life

Isaiah 40. Sermon notes from Misty Edwards

The way that God deals with Israel is a witness, He deals the same with us. It is how He deals with nations and individuals.
Comfort the globe (at the end of the age), it will pass. tell them the end of the story (Jesus is coming back, he will reign on the earth...Millennium Kingdom etc)
The heart of the Father in the midst of judgements; speaking comfort in the midst of shaking. He wants to speak comfort to us.
The message of the forerunner is the message of comfort, of hope. The 'why' of the judgement. Telling them the end of the story.
Isa 40; 3-5. This passage is not completely fulfilled. There will come a day that ALL flesh will see His glory. Be a voice in the wilderness. The wilderness of voluntary weakness, fasting, it effects your time, your sleeping, your money. Don't be an echo, rejoicing in the light of another man. Be a voice, burn. Be a fire on the inside. God lives inside of us and He is an all consuming fire.
The only way that you become a voice; go the way in the wilderness, of voluntary weakness. Go the lowest, put your mouth to the dust. The wilderness is the place where you face your weakness, where you meet God. Face weakness, emptiness. Small things will get really small, and big things will be big things.
Beauty of the wilderness; Divine perspective. Wilderness is real. Fast radically. The fear of fasting is worse then the fasting itself. Control your tongue. It's ok, you don't have to say everything that you are thinking.
You can't enter into the wilderness without feeling His smile, His pleasure over your life, that He loves you. Learn that He IS pleased with you. Don't fast because you try to prove something but fast because He likes you and you like Him. It's all about love, when you fail, it's about love. In the wilderness you develop your history in God.
You can't comfort people until you have been comforted. The Lord takes you through your own wilderness. Voluntary weakness and involuntary weakness. You can't answers questions until you found the answers to your own questions -the why's -. Where were You? God teaches us in the wilderness. Hosea tells us that He speaks to us in the wilderness. In the wilderness you find your identity. you work out your (faith) muscles.
Isa 40:6-8. Two fold message; frailty of men and the majesty of God. The anti christ, his kingdom, it's grass. Why should you fear man, persecution? You don't live according to the persecution. You're gonna die. Life at best is but a vapor. It's so short. ALL flesh is grass. It is all fading away. Live in the beauty of holiness, cause all flesh is grass. The Word of God stands forever, build your life on this. This is the anchor of your soul. Build your house on this Rock. The Word of God stands forever.
Isa 40:9-11 Message of comfort again. He is gonna fight for them, for those who said yes to Him. He is gonna carry you, close to His heart. He will destroy the enemies. He gently leads them.
Isa 40:12. Under the weight of oppression, under the darkness, when you are under the darkness you can't see the light. You live on a peanut (the earth), you are the apple of His eye, it is precious to Him. Satan is just a puppet on strings, He (God) is the Creator. The nations rage, they are like grasshoppers-> God laughs. Come against God, are you kidding me?!
If God is for you than who can be against you? Lift your eyes on high, behold your God.
Isa 40: 27. He is never weary. He may tarry because He has a bigger picture in mind. But every word He has spoken WILL come to pass. He never faints, He is never weary. He will come. Why the trouble? Because God is for you. He does not faint. One day the pressure is gonna make sense. He has the whole picture. He knows every season, pressure of your life. He knows what He is doing and He is wise and true. He has got His hand on this whole thing. He is not perplexed, He gives power to the weak. You will not find power in your own armies, in other nations. He wants a relationship with you.
Isa 40:31. Wait on the Lord, encounter Him today, in voluntary weakness. You will only renew in strength when you wait. Get to know Him. Blessed you are if you are found watching and waiting. For those who wait on the Lord shall not be put to shame. waiting is easy, everybody can do it. Sit in a chair, read your bible, talk with God and wait, get to know Him. If you wait on the Lord He WILL renew your strength. those who wait on the Lord will never be put to shame.

Connection time with Stuart Greaves...

  • Moses didn't have a stutter problem, but a God problem
  • God is formless
  • When people see or encounter God they become speechless. We don't know God
  • We were made to tremble
  • We are to fear God
  • What you fear, you worship, what you give alliance to
  • Rejection is the fear of man, it's sin
  • When the Lord hit the people in the bible, they ran
  • Fear God and keep His commandments
  • The fear of the Lord will terrify you. The fear of the Lord and the commandments are strangers to us
  • Don't try to deliver people form the fear of the Lord or comfort them

Notes from Bill Johnson

  • Healing the sick is a lifestyle, don't make a hype of it
  • Don't under estimate the devil, but don't be impressed by him either
  • Jesus messed up every funeral, including His own
  • Introspection is what kills us. No one who examines himself is getting encouraged
  • When you are sick and think that God wants to teach you something, then don't go to the doctor or you mess up His plan for you
  • God wants to heal
  • Want to raise the death? Then stop speaking death. Power of life and death are in the tongue
  • Jesus is the same today, He is not changed. He heals people and raises them up form the death

My prayer...

That God is gonna release the fear of the Lord upon the Dutchies (that means including me)...
Dangerous prayer...I know...but necessary
