Sjonge jonge jonge, wat ik gister nou weer heb meegemaakt....niet te geloven..of uhmmm wel te geloven ;-) maar ik viel zowat van mn puntje van mn stoel.
We hadden eerst een samenkomst en daarna een soort van praisedienst. Daarna kreeg Mike (voorganger) een berichtje dat een van de kids heel erg ziek was...stervende (hepatitus B of C???) anyway. Hij besloot toen meteen voorbede te gaan doen met de hele zaal en over haar te zingen en te bidden (hoe ze dat hier doen). Er waren een stuk of 100 kids. It was warfare, oorlogsvoering. Leaping lizards. Anyway, er waren een stuk of 100 kids en hier doen ze vaak een "rapid fire prayer" dat betekent een gebed voor de microfoon bidden van ongeveer 10 seconden. Nou, de kinderen namen het over LOL. The kids...they are more than cute, they are dangerous. For real. Ik kreeg teveel water in mn ogen ;-). Wat ik in een boekje over kids ooit heb gelezen over opwekking en kinderen of zo, daar zat ik nu midden in. WAUW. Ze baden niet of God alstublieft wou genezen, no way...het ging meer van; in de naam van Jezus ik proclameer leven en genezing over haar, sickness you have to go and leave her body in the name of Jesus, she is healed by the stripes of Jezus, sickness you must go etc etc etc. Wij als Fire In The Night voelden ons zowat geintimideerd door de kids. Leaping lizards, ik was geshockeerd (in a good way) Ik stond met mn oren te klapperen. Anyway, zo hebben we een poos met zn allen voorbede gedaan, daarna liep ik wat heen en weer te bidden. Kom ik een knul van een jaar of 7 of 8... die is vet aan het strijden en bidden, andere kids die letterlijk huilen, op hun knieen voorbede doen. Kinderen vanaf 6 jaar. Leaping lizards. Het was super cool. Die kids....aiaiai. Ik wist niet dat het mogelijk was, of snapte het gewoon niet (en ik snap nog steeds veel niet) maar God opent mn ogen meer en meer. Samuel was maar 8 toen God tot hem sprak. God is niet veranderd en doet dat nog steeds. Ik was super bemoedigd en vond het zo cool om al die kids te zien en zo mee te maken en hun hart naar God toe, dat het niet iets is voor tieners of jongeren en volwassenen, als je ouder bent maar God werkt zo al door ukkies heen. Dat ze in tongen bidden, profeteren en noem maar op...aiaiai, zo super cool :-)
Anyway, dat wou ik even vertellen ;-) Ik was er gister eerst even helemaal vanaf, speechless.

wauw...en vandaag in de kerk kwamen de getuigenissen van de kinderen. Als ik niet oppas luister ik met mn mond wagenwijd open en vraag ik me af; God hoe kunnen we dit ooit aan kinderen leren en hoe werkt het allemaal. Kinderen (vanaf een jaar of 5/ 6 ) die profeteren, kinderen die in tongen bidden, kinderen die voor genezing bidden en mensen genezen, kinderen die voor bevrijding bidden en mensen worden bevrijd aiaiai. Ze vertelden over wat God had gedaan in hun en hoe God ze aanraakten en over dromen en visioenen, hoe God hun hart aanraakt en ze het uitroepen naar God en huilen. aiaiaiai.

Jeremiah taught us that saying prayers is not what God requires. Spiritual language and grandiose statements in prayer do not impress God. He peers right into the depths of the human heart and sees our spiritual void and barrenness. This is where much of the church in the western world misses the mark. We may regularly attend church services and may even go to a few prayer meetings. Yet all the while God is calling us to live a radically different lifestyle necessary for us to experience deep intimacy with Him.

He is after something far deeper than regular attendance at prayer meetings. He wants to actually possess us.

Fasting is not to move His heart, but to move our own. Our hearts are prone to dullness, we become hardened without realizing it.
The Bridegroom fast is focused on desire: both understanding God's desire for us and awakening our own desire for Him
God gives us more of Himself in accordance with our hunger for more. Until your capacity to receive from Him is enlarged by spiritual hunger, you will be limited in your experience of God. He will give according to hunger; thus, our first priority must become hungry. An awakened interest is not yet hunger, hunger is that we can not live without more, when we make radical alterations to our lifestyles in order to pursue God. God promised that HE WILL BE FOUND when He is pursued by anyone with a genuinely heart (Jer 29:12-14)

6 hours of sleep till Friday...

Nightwatch time, we're getting up at 6 in the morning (real time is 2 a clock in the afternoon)

3 hours class Isaiah each day till Friday(night watch time (that's us) at 7 a clock in the morning till ten...) real time is 3 a clock

10 hours every day in the prayer room this whole week...

13 hour schedule each day (at least)

For those who want; fasting for 1 week

Other words...exhausted...weak...can't think clearly...fighting against my flesh...counting off the days till at least Friday to catch up some sleep....

...Yes...Jesus HELP...yikes...

Doing my best to submit to leadership and rules while everything in me SCREAMS to take a break etc

BUT Im very happy and thankful to be here and if I could choose it again, I definitely would! God's grace is sufficient...aiaiaiai...

Fasting is for the common, weak, frail, ordinary individual who realises his or her lack and has a desperate need for more of God. Only weak people fast and pray; only those who recognize their need for more of God fast.

Fasting is VOLUNTARY sacrifice. It is Christianity 101.
We are spiritual barren and in great need of the in breaking of God's love and power.
Sacrificing food and pleasures unlocks our heart and mind to receive more of God Himself. we become more sensitive to God and the things of God.
We position our hearts to encounter Jesus as the Bridegroom God. Matt 9:15, we fast because we long for Jesus return, it is one way to express this longing. They would fast in mourning because of His absence and fast in longing for His return -Bridegroom fast-

We do not fast to prove anything to God or to earn His favor. We can never manipulate God. The scripture teaches us to fast, to strengthen us in our quest to be preoccupied with God and His will. regular fasting is part of normal Christian life, Matt 6:16 when you fast, not if you fast.

The Father rewards fasting (matt 6:17-18) While God does reward fasting, the rewards He gives are not earned or deserved by us because of fasting. We are weak people who can never earn God's favor or rewards, but can only receive them.
Fasting enlarges our capacity to receive truth, and accelerates the process of God's truths taking root in our own hearts.

God's requirement that we pray reflects His desire for intimate partnership and connection with us.

Prayer and fasting are spiritual weapons we use to actively resist satan.

Fasting is an invitation. God invites us to fast because He wants us to want more of Him.
It humbles us to fast. Fasting increases our receptivity to the Lord's voice and His Word.

Daniel prayed and fasted for the fulfilment of God's promises.

We were created to receive love and to give love
When we can't receive love, then we cut ourselves off from love
God created us with a need. That God may fulfil it and people
The needs we have for love, for relationships are real, they are not wrong. That is what the enemy tries to tell us.
One relationship learns trust, the other learns fear and rejection
It is ok to have needs, it is ok to feel, it is ok to long, it is ok to not be perfect
Forgiveness comes from the heart, allow your heart to feel it, to feel the pain and the loss and then bring it to the cross
Forgiveness is not deserved but we give it as a gift, as we receive this gift from God for ourselves

We tend to interpret difficulty as either punishment from God or the direct activity from satan. Often, it is simply God's way of training and bringing us to the place of maturity.
He will train us by hiding from us. The silence of a hiding God must do it's work in our soul. God seems silent; no amount of pleading brings Him out of hiding. These moments test us severely, but they bring forth fruit that will remain. As we refuse the devil's voice of accusation we are able to live under the truth; His banner over me is love" .
